Admissions

We are delighted that you are considering a place for your child/children at Lyneham Primary School.

ALL applications for a school place (whether your child/children are starting school for the first time or moving to us from another school) must be made through the Wiltshire Council website. Once registered, the online form is easy to complete using a mobile phone so you do not need to print the application.

Please apply for a September 2022 new school place (by January 15, 2022) or an In-year transfer place here: https://www.wiltshire.gov.uk/schools-learning-admissions-online

Parents can still apply using a paper form if they wish and copies of the form can be obtained by calling Wiltshire Council Customer Services on 01225 713 010. They are no longer available on the website.  If a parent does complete a paper form, then it must be returned by post as Wiltshire Council Admissions no longer accept any in year transfer forms by email.

If you would like to find out more information about the admissions process then please visit the Applying for school place page on Wiltshire Council's website.

Once we have received confirmation from Wiltshire Council Admissions that they have your completed application form, we will then email you with joining information to help plan for your child/children's first day. In the meantime, if you would like to speak to the School Office team to discuss a prospective place for your child/children or if you have any questions, then please do not hesitate to call the office on 01249 890 413 - we are always happy to hear from to you.

Foundation (Reception/EYFS) Stage Admissions

For children joining us in our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) in September 2022 (the start of the academic year in which they turn five), we have a full induction programme for both parents and children. Parents will be invited to an Information Meeting in the summer term, and the children will have a number of opportunities to visit their new class and teacher. To help these very young children settle well in school we have a staggered entry throughout September. If this is something that will be difficult to manage due to work commitments, then we also have some (limited) provision for your child to be well cared for and stay at school all day.

Mid Year (In year transfer) Admissions

In our school, we have children who arrive and leave throughout the school year and others who stay with us right from Foundation Stage to Year 6. We know that transitioning schools can be an unsettling time for both children and parents, therefore whenever a child joins us we have an induction programme to help them and their families settle in as quickly and happily as possible. You will be contacted by our school Transition Co-ordinator once your child/children have started, but if you have any specific questions about the school prior to starting then please feel free to email the school office on admin@lynehamprimary.wilts.sch.uk who will put you in touch with our Transition Co-ordinator.

Moving On?

Once you know that your child will be leaving Lyneham Primary, maybe due to a posting or moving house, you will need to complete a Notification of Child Leaving form. This form can be downloaded by clicking here or asking for a paper copy from the school office. Completed forms should be emailed to admin@lynehamprimary.wilts.sch.uk or returned to the school office as soon as possible.

You will need to contact your new school directly to find out their admissions procedure and apply accordingly.
