Pit Stop
Pit Stop is our staff led lunch club and is open to all children throughout the year. There are lots of different activities on offer in Pit Stop, such as painting, lego, arts and craft and many more. Our ELSAs are always on hand during Pit Stop, so children have someone to talk to about any worries or concerns they may have. We always offer our new starters time in Pit Stop if they wish to take it, as it provides a calm environment to start to build new friendships outside the classroom. Pit Stop is very popular, so not everyone can attend every day. We have a system where children can request a pass for Pit Stop from their class teacher if they wish to attend and then attendance is shared around so that everyone who wants to go, gets the chance to.
As Pit Stop provides a calmer and more nurturing environment than the playground, some children benefit particularly from this provision. In some circumstances, we may encourage a child to attend Pit Stop on a more frequent basis so that they are able to spend more time with our ELSAs. If this is a provision that you think your child may benefit from, please speak to your child's class teacher.
