Admissions

In our school, we have children who arrive and leave throughout the school year and others who stay with us right from Foundation Stage to Year 6. Whenever a child joins us we have an induction programme to help them and their families settle in as quickly and happily as possible.

All applications for school must be made through Wiltshire Council, via their website www.wiltshire.gov.uk.

Wiltshire Council can also be contacted by telephone on 01225 713 000.

We will send you school admission forms and information prior to your child starting school, however, if you wish you can download it from here.

Foundation Stage Admissions

For children joining us in Foundation Stage in September (the start of the academic year in which they turn five), we have a full induction programme for both parents and children. Parents will be invited to a Information Meeting in the summer term, and the children will have a number of opportunities to visit their new class and teacher. To help these very young children settle well in school we have a staggered entry over the first three weeks of Term 1.

mid year admissions

Many children join our school mid-way through the school year and we know that this can be an unsettling time for both children and parents.  Wherever possible, prior to your child's first day, we invite you and your family for a tour of the school led by our Transition Leader, Mrs Evans.  This gives you the opportunity to see the whole school and ask any questions from Mrs Evans, who will also spend time talking with you to discover as much as we can about your child to ensure their transition is smooth into Lyneham Primary School. Please see our Transition Policy for further details.
